About Sacred Healing Journeys

My first experience with journeys was through the Four Winds Society in Utah, (www.thefourwinds.com). It was founded by Alberto Villoldo, PH. D, expert on Inkan Shamanism and best-selling author. Several years later, I worked with a local shamanic practitioner who literally saved my life. Needless to say I was hooked on the process.

Because I have been so intensely involved with "Taking out the Garbage" in the past several years—ridding myself at all levels of anything and everything from the past, present or future that is preventing me from reaching my Highest Realized Self, I began doing self journeys, and what I discovered along the way was fascinating, along with setting me free from lifetimes of karmic issues. I am not a shamanic practitioner, nor do I practice any one certain method. Instead, I have drawn from my own experience of what has worked miracles in my life.

With me personally, by far the most beneficial journeying has been with soul retrieval work. For those of us who are doing intensive healing and working toward raising our vibrations, not only is it important to release what does not belong, but even more important to call back what has been lost. Most of us on the planet today are operating in a state of "missing pieces."

Just imagine a jigsaw puzzle of, say, a farm scene. Pretend you have a picture of a house and a barn, a pasture with some cows in it, a yard with children throwing feed to chickens, and some clear, blue sky.

Now imagine all the pieces for the barn have gone missing. And the pasture with the cows is not there either. It doesn't quite look as much like a farm scene, does it?  Now take away the house and the children, and what have you got? Basically bits and pieces that don't make up a whole, and don't look logical together.

Now, imagine that these missing pieces are actually pieces of your soul. The theory is that when we suffer a traumatic event, a piece of our soul breaks off to preserve the whole. Say, for instance, that a woman was raped. A piece of her soul may break off and lodge in the vicinity of where the attack took place. When you have enough of these pieces missing, you begin to energetically look like the fragmented puzzle.

But, I have found, with myself, that most of my missing soul pieces were either given away by me, or stolen.

When we have a relationship with someone, particularly if the relationship is unequal, the person who is doing most of the giving will, in an attempt to satiate the other, keep giving more and more of themselves, until there is nothing more to give. It is the classic co-dependency situation, and an explanation of what is really going on at the metaphysical level. As is the case most of the time, the other person is simply incapable of giving in return, so he/she drains off the other, and drains and drains and drains, usually treating the other person abusively. Eventually, the other person has so little of themselves left, that they actually become dependent on this partner, not because they love them so much, but because they have given away so many of their soul parts that they have little left of themselves. That is the classic reason why a woman will stay with a man who beats her, or is an alcoholic, or is cheating on her, or a man will stay with a woman who ridicules or dominates him, or has little romantic or sexual interest, especially in cases where the man has been faithful and kind. Giving away ones soul pieces is like giving the other person permission to manipulate. Fortunately, as we continue to head into the dawning of the new age, we are developing a different set of standards for our relationships, and fortunately, also, many of the current relationships will be breaking up, because they were not formed with integrity of the soul, and equality of energy. But for now, we have the majority of the population living in terribly unbalanced relationships.

The other most common need for soul retrieval is from parents who stole pieces from us while we were very young and vulnerable. Because we lost a vital part of ourself at an early age, stolen by the person or people who were supposed to be our caregivers, our nurturers, we most likely grew up with a parent or parents who were able to manipulate and sabotage us, sometimes to the point of dangerous levels. That was the case with me. Without a doubt, the most effective soul retrieval I ever did on myself was in regaining 15 soul parts from a member of my family, who had stolen them, beginning my infancy, and continued to age 40. Because this person had so many of my pieces, I literally could not escape their psychic sabotage for every project I attempted. I finally did escape this person, but it was a couple years later that I did the soul retrieval. After that, I felt totally free, and have not been bothered or affected by this person since. The change was drastic and immediate—one of those rare cases of truly hitting the nail on the head the first time! But ultimately, as with any holistic or energetic healing, there is rarely a magic bullet. The more you put into your own self healing, the more drastic will be the results with any of these methods. In my case, I have devoted decades of intensive personal work so that turned out to be a magic bullet.

Other work that may be done through journeys is past-life regressions, either with or without the client accompanying. I have done it, and had it done to me both ways. After I had done the soul retrieval work, I began getting a great deal of assistance from a local hawk. This bird at first showed up in my journeys, like me, a fierce warrior. Ahh, birds of a feather, huh? Whenever I had a particularly tricky journey to do, this hawk would assist me. Ted Andrews points out in his book Animal-Speak, which I highly recommend reading, that the hawk can catch a rattlesnake in the desert and snap off its head in seconds flat. Hawk shows you how to protect yourself from those who would harm you.

Well, soon this hawk actually showed up in my yard, and would screech and circle me until it got my attention. What I soon learned was that it was warning me that the person I had just encountered did not have my best interest in mind. In some cases, it was obvious, but in others, it may have been simply seeing a person's name written somewhere, or having a very brief encounter—often not even someone I knew. But I learned when Hawk appeared in a frenzy that I needed to immediately enter into a journey and go back in time. Sure enough, I would find that I did know that person in some lifetime, and there was a karmic issue attached. I would sever the energetic ties, and the hawk would go away.

Other problems that can be dealt with in journeys include entity removal, either from a structure or a person. Entities can range from harmless souls who don't know how to move on to the next world and are stuck in this one, clinging to a person or place because they often don’t even know they are dead. They can cause real havoc, but are usually not evil. But some are, and some can be deadly, like the one I had in my house that killed 12 of my animals and was after me.

I have found journeying to be one of the most effective modalities that I practice, because the result can be immediate and drastic. Sometimes.

Other times, when something has been imbedded within a person for a very long time, it takes the person a while to adjust from its removal. I had a terrible curse placed on me during the Kingdom of Atlantis. I knew about this for years and years, and knew what the terms were. I worked on it myself, and had numerous others work on me, but wasn't until this past July when I finally saw the imprint of this leave my body. It went out through the top of my head. It was bizarre, but when I saw it happening, I knew I had finally, after eons, been cleared of this terrible source of misery. Contracts can also work the same way. (Contracts are things we have agreed to do before we incarnated, but now realize that they are not in our best interest, or often, in anybody's best interest. Still, until we break them, we are bound.) I have heard others say that once you break a contract, it is done, but doesn't always go away that quickly. I think it's because we still have a cellular memory, and until our cells forget, we have to work to free ourselves. But, when it finally is gone, it is gone, and you know it. There is finality with all this eventually.

Journeying is extremely complex, though the process is simple. I hope this has given all of you an overview of the many issues might benefit from healing journeys.
